BUREAU DO'S AND DON'TS
Suggestions from the A.R.R.L.
Good cooperation between the DX'er and the bureau is important to ensure a smooth flow of cards. With that thought in mind, please pay close attention to the following general do's
and don'ts.
Do's
- Do keep self-addressed 6 x 9 inch envelopes or money credit on file at your bureau.
- Do
send money or stamps directly to the
Bureau Manager
- Do respond quickly to any bureau
request for SASEs, stamps or money.
- Do notify the bureau of your new
call sign as you upgrade. Note: Envelopes should be kept on file for each call sign that you expect to receive.
- Do notify the bureau in writing
if you don't want your cards.
- Do notify the Bureau of a change
of address. Note: Supply mailing labels with the new address.
- Do be sure to treat your sorters and managers respectfully. They are all volunteers doing work for YOU!
- Do keep a separate envelope for
each zero call you expect to receive cards for. We do not cross reference upgrades, vanity calls, family calls or forward cards for one call to another.
- Do consider the following when ordering envelopes at the bureau-- keep envelopes and supplies on hand in your account.
Don'ts
- DO NOT send envelopes. We provide them for you.
- DO
NOT send any money or stamps directly to
any sorter.
-
Don't send domestic US to US cards to
the bureau.
DO NOT SEND YOUR OUTGOING CARDS TO US.
Outgoing cards should be sent to ARRL
HQ.
-
Do not expect DX cards to arrive for
several months or years after the QSO. Overseas
delivery is very slow. Many cards coming
from overseas bureaus are several years
old.
- Do not send money to your "portable" bureau. For example, NU0X/1 sends SASEs to the W0 bureau, not the W1 bureau.
- Do not request special services such as monthly mailings or UPS mailings.
|
|
Please remember - every sorter is a volunteer taking some of their radio time to provide this service for you - so, be understanding - Thanks!
